1179-1184 CONSTRUCTION- JURIDICAL INSCRIPTION OF AMIREJIBI KAVTAR KACHIBAISDZES FROM PHITARETI WITH MENTIONING GEORGIAN KINGS, GIORGI III AND QUEEN TAMAR

Abstract

The construction-juridical inscription of Amirejib Kavtar Kachibaisdze from Fitareti Church of the 2nd half of the 12th century is an excellent example of Georgian writing according to its content, outline of graphemes and artistic decoration. The inscription, which is interesting to us, provides us with the most valuable information about the co-reign of the kings of united Georgia – the George III and the Queen Tamar, as well as the epigraphic monument depicts the social, administrative and state institutions of the time of the King George. The Georgian epigraphic monument describes in detail the domestic and foreign situation of the country.

The purpose of our research is to specify the text of the construction inscription of Fitareti located in Kvemo Kartli and, based on this, to give a new dating of the renovation of the architectural monument.
