CONTEMPORARY TRENDS OF DEMOGRAPHIC PROCESSES IN GEORGIA

Abstract

It is a fact that the demographic situation in Georgia is not favorable. This is confirmed by the data of the National Statistics Service and the assessments of other experts. The deterioration of the demographic situation has been the most important problem for Georgia for ten years, which actually poses a threat to the Georgian nation.

Statistics of the demographic processes of the population of Georgia testify that the population is experiencing an acute demographic crisis. At the initial stage, it was difficult to stop the causes of demographic problems and it became impossible to implement effective and timely reforms. The state needs to develop an effective and targeted demographic policy for the current situation.
