DEVELOPMENT OF THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY AS THE MOST IMPORTANT PREREQUISITE FOR THE FUNCTIONING OF THE COUNTRY'S ECONOMY

Abstract

In parallel with the analysis of the most important macroeconomic parameters of the country, namely the gross domestic product and the state debt, as well as the dynamics of their ratio, the first part of the paper discusses the dynamics of the main parameters of the formation of the country's international reserves, such as: the country's foreign trade balance, foreign direct investments and allocations from the country's budget for the servicers of the state debt.

According to the survey  and analysis of statistical data showing the growing turnover of goods with Ukraine and the Russian Federation belonging to the category of Georgia's main economic partners, and the impact of the war between the mentioned countries, taking into account the probable risks of the existing economic relations with them, the paper expresses an opinion about the actualization of the country food security issue.

Taking into account the features of the country's agriculture, the paper presents an opinion on the necessity to develop agricultural products processing industries in the country.

Based on the analysis of the current tax legislation of the country and other normative acts regulating the activities of agricultural products processing enterprises, the author's opinions on the stimulation of the agricultural products processing industry are presented.
