LABOR MARKET AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS IN GEORGIA

Abstract

The article discusses labor market development trends in Georgia, statistical picture of employment and unemployment. Unemployment is the most acute socio-economic problem in Georgia, which is confirmed by various surveys conducted in the country. Unemployment is high in both urban and rural areas, however According to official statistics, its level in the country, according to the latest data, is slightly lower, but it is still at 12.3%.


Employment and unemployment levels are analyzed in the regional context, trends in urban and rural areas are given, indicating the reasons for the change. Unemployment growth rates are characterized by both regional and gender-age gaps and factors influencing its growth are identified. Ways to reduce unemployment are outlined and a statistical picture of the expected trends is outlined.
