Abstract

The bases and principles for the formation and functioning of foreign language learning circles at school are analysed in the given article.

For the active participation of learners in the FL circles it is crucial that their interests and level of language mastery should be taken into consideration. The suggested forms of teaching and materials must be authentic, accessible and multifarous.  Out-of-class activities should be less formal and instructional, learners  must be provided with the motivating, pleseant and real- life activities, the teacher, as a facilitator of the process  has to ensure that teaching/ learning doesn’t become mundane, as learning a foreign language can be an interesting adventure for learners that can lay effective foundation for them to acquire  normal  linguistic skills and at the same time to get familiar with the culture and traditions of the target language.

Modern methodology of foreign language teaching is oriented towards thecreation of democratic and student-oriented atmosphere and the process of organising and conducting out-of- class (circles) teaching and relative activites should meet all these requirements.
