Abstract

According to Archil Jorjadze, after the disclosure of the conspiracy of 1832, the national vitality of the Georgian intellectuals somehow disappeared. Almost all connections with ancient Georgian history, culture and traditions were severed.

If we take into consideration that the sphere of activity of the national part of the society at that time was more limited, it was still possible to gradually strengthen the line of literary and cultural activity, which was directed against the Russification policy of the Tsarism. "Tergdaleulebi" played a special role in this case. People were often reminded from the pages of "Iveria" that after the unification of Georgia with Russia, although the country calmed down and recovered from decline and destruction, subsided from war and fighting, this serenity still did not bring the good that was expected.

Among the various aspects of cultural life, one of the most important was the revival of performing arts. Already in the second half of the 19th century, the question of creating a permanent theatre troupe became acute. The agenda of public life clearly defined the need to take concrete steps in this direction. One of the steps on this path was the establishment of the "Community of Amateur Actors”.
