Abstract

Ekaterine Gabashvili is one of the important writers of Georgian literature of the beginning of the 19th century and the end of the 20th century. She transferred the actual problems voiced in his civil activism into his writings and thus tried to develop the masses, raise awareness and give the population a push to take effective steps in front of real problems. Ekaterine Gabashvili's work was especially promising for women who had their wings clipped from obeying outdated public thoughts and incompetent traditions. With the example of one specific novel ("Did-Kheva"), the writer's important opinions and progressive ideas for the era are discussed, which were figuratively reflected in the work and with clear examples, became very accessible and understandable for the reader.
